I adore Christina Applegate and was so glad to hear that she recovered fully from a double mastectomy recently after she discovered she had breast cancer. So why oh why is Christina Applegate taking a crap on her good fortune?

I guess it's one of those things where you start speaking to God and making all kinds of promises, then, once you're better, you slowly start to fall back into your routine and taking advantage of your situation.

That's right. Christina Applegate was snapped smoking a cigarette. A cigarette. It won't get her high, it won't make her more attractive - in fact, it will kill her. And yet, even cancer didn't stop her from lighting up. Ah, will wonders ever cease?

Christina Applegate Cancer Free

After just 3 weeks of being diagnosed with breast cancer, 36-year-old Christina Applegate is happy to report that she is cancer free, thanks to an operation in which she removed both her breasts. On Good Morning America, Christina Applegate told Robin Roberts that she is free and clear of cancer.

Christina Applegate only had cancer in one breast but wanted to remove them both (the procedure is called a prophylactic double mastectomy) rather than have to go through the ongoing process of getting tested every 4 months for the next 5 years.

Christina Applegate also admits that she will definitely be having reconstructive breast surgery over the next 8 months and plans to have "have cute boobs till I'm 90."

Christina Applegate Breast Cancer Diagnosis

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard it. Beautiful Christina Applegate, 36, and star of Samantha Who? has recently been diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer. Her publicist confirmed it on August 3, 2008.


During her annual MRI, it was discovered that Christina Applegate was indeed in the early stages of breast cancer, which must be scary for her considering her mother battled both breast cancer and cervical cancer.

What makes this all so sad is that Christina Applegate's boyfriend, Lee Grivas, overdosed on drugs and died just one month before.

Everyone in Christina Applegate's circle is confident that the blonde beauty will get through this without complications and will beat the cancer easily. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and with every woman who is currently dealing or has dealt with breast cancer.
